Wordless Wednesday | Cap'n Crunch Cereal

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - I was tempted to buy a box of Cap'n Crunch the other day. It's probably my favorite not-good-for-you-but-oh-so-delicious cereal. I used to eat it far more often than was good for me in college.

2 - These days I usually have a bowl of oatmeal in the morning. Not nearly as delicious. Unless, of course you sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top. Not that I would ever do that.

3 - Did you know that you can do more with Cap'n Crunch than just dousing it with milk? I actually found a recipe for Cap'n Crunch chicken. It sounds rather odd. I think I'll stick with just eating mine the old fashioned way in a bowl.

What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

  1. Crunch Berries are my favorite. I've also seen that recipe for chicken. You crush the Crunch Berries and use them as coating. Not so good with the peanut butter one though.

  2. My favorite is Crunch Berries, but man - they tear up the roof of my mouth something awful! I've learned, over the years, that I have to have patience and let them soak in the milk for a little bit before eating. I've also make Captain Crunch treats before (like Rice Krispie Treats but with CC instead!)

  3. My favorite not-so-good-for-you cereal is Frosted Flakes. It's been ages since I had any, but now I'm thinking of adding it to the grocery list.... :o

  4. I've not had cereal in years. Just not a fan. It's expensive too. When did that happen? I don't like oatmeal either and I know it's very good for you. Without the chocolate chips though. Bugger.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥

  5. This reminds me of Sweetie. He adores Cap’n Crunch, and used to eat it a whole box at a sitting.

  6. Funny, I would have pegged you more for a Cookie Crisp kinda girl. Hmph.

I am more into the chocolate cereals myself. Except Chocolate Cheerios.
    I do not like Cheerios.

I actually have had that Capt-N-Crunch Chicken, and it's pretty good. ;)

  7. Oh the memories!
At some point I collected the nessasary box tops and acquired the Good Ship Guppy!

  8. I haven't had those in years! I would buy a box, but after a bowl or two, it'd be back to the oatmeal for me too. And can you believe my kids don't like them? (Crazy, I know!) Now, as for that chicken...hmmm...

  9. All I can think while seeing this image is how we have too much choice in United States stores today. ~shakes head~ I shouldn't complain, but it makes shopping a greater chore every year. Why on earth would anyone give Pepto Bismol a cherry flavor? And it's almost the same color, so I can't blame my husband for not noticing. But yuck! I prefer soothing peppermint for a tender tummy. Be well, my dear.

  10. In my late teens, I had the flu for days directly after eating Capn Crunch cereal, so now I have a taste aversion. No thanks.

  11. I haven't eaten any sugary cereal in more years than I can count, but my grandkchildren more than make up for it.

The word that picture brings to mind is "choice." We have waaaaay too many choices in the grocery store, especially in the cereal aisle.

  12. Cool - I just came across a recipe for Cap'n Crunch Chicken in this great book I'm reading ... So many flavors of the Cap'n! I think there was just regular when I was a kid. Glad you are still enjoying that oatmeal!
