Wordless Wednesday | Paris Honeymoon

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - After getting married in Copenhagen, we honeymooned in Paris.

2 - That was a long, long time ago - 26 years.

3 - We didn't have a lot of money at the time (and we still don't) so we stayed in a really dodgy hotel. Thankfully, the views of Paris from the balcony made up for our room's shortcomings.

4 - For some reason, looking at these pictures has left me with a distinct craving for a pain au chocolat.

What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

  5. We had the choice of Paris or Amsterdam for our honeymoon almost 37 years ago. Those were the only options in the British Rail Stardust Mini Holiday brochure - yes, it was as classy as it sounds. We chose Amsterdam but have been to Paris several times since.

  6. Pain au chocolat are my favorite French pastries. My favorite Belgian one has a layer of baked custard in it with the chocolate. Yum!

Mark and I have still not been on a honeymoon. We have been married for 10 years now. One day... I have been to Paris many times before. It is only a three-hour drive from where I lived in Belgium.

    1. I think I'd really like the Belgian pastries. Chocolate and custard - what could be better?

  7. Writing this comment right from Paris... Had to come here for my french-speaking crew (and boyfriend) to apply for a visa at the US embassy... Eventually we'll get there with the boat...
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your time in France back then and didn't encounter too many rude Parisians... ;)
I really enjoyed finding your comment on my blog and espère que le blog t'aidera à entretenir ton français.
    All the best, fair winds!

    1. It was very cultural, sipping on red wine and looking out at the amazing view. Loved it :-)

  10. No matter how dodgy your hotel might have been, it must have been an amazing experience. (Those dodgy places can leave us with some of the best memories. Usually funny ones.)

I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas.

  12. Wow! I traded travel and excitement for a cushy life in Ohio suburbia. So, looking at these photos, the word 'lame' comes to mind, describing me. LOL
