Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:
1 - After getting married in Copenhagen, we honeymooned in Paris.
2 - That was a long, long time ago - 26 years.
3 - We didn't have a lot of money at the time (and we still don't) so we stayed in a really dodgy hotel. Thankfully, the views of Paris from the balcony made up for our room's shortcomings.
4 - For some reason, looking at these pictures has left me with a distinct craving for a pain au chocolat.
What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

Thanks for stopping by our blog - we love it when people come visit! We're also on Facebook - pop by and say hi!
Money or not, you were fortunate to get to honeymoon there.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Christmas, Ellen!
We were very lucky indeed :-)
DeleteNot a place I ever want to visit, but I'm glad you had such a wonderful marriage and honeymoon. Very impressive is what this brings to mind.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
It was a lot of fun :-)
DeleteHow amazing! We totally want to do the French canals by boat!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do that too one day!
DeleteWhat do these pics bring to mind? I gotta get out more. HA!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Christmas and a wonderful New Years!
Anna from elements of emaginette
Thanks for the holiday wishes, Anna. I hope you holidays are wonderful as well.
DeleteWe had the choice of Paris or Amsterdam for our honeymoon almost 37 years ago. Those were the only options in the British Rail Stardust Mini Holiday brochure - yes, it was as classy as it sounds. We chose Amsterdam but have been to Paris several times since.
ReplyDeleteI love Amsterdam as well. We've been there several times. Always a fun city to visit.
DeletePain au chocolat are my favorite French pastries. My favorite Belgian one has a layer of baked custard in it with the chocolate. Yum!
ReplyDeleteMark and I have still not been on a honeymoon. We have been married for 10 years now. One day... I have been to Paris many times before. It is only a three-hour drive from where I lived in Belgium.
I think I'd really like the Belgian pastries. Chocolate and custard - what could be better?
DeleteWriting this comment right from Paris... Had to come here for my french-speaking crew (and boyfriend) to apply for a visa at the US embassy... Eventually we'll get there with the boat...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you enjoyed your time in France back then and didn't encounter too many rude Parisians... ;)
I really enjoyed finding your comment on my blog and espère que le blog t'aidera à entretenir ton français.
All the best, fair winds!
How funny that you're in Paris reading this blog. Merci bien pour rendu visite.
DeleteBaguette. I cannot think "French" without also craving a bit of real bread...
ReplyDeleteWarm baguette with butter on it - yum!
DeleteOh, Paris. I think staying in those rooms just adds to the culture :)
ReplyDeleteIt was very cultural, sipping on red wine and looking out at the amazing view. Loved it :-)
DeleteNo matter how dodgy your hotel might have been, it must have been an amazing experience. (Those dodgy places can leave us with some of the best memories. Usually funny ones.)
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas.
It is pretty funny looking back at it now. Glad we can afford slightly less accommodations now :-)
DeleteVery cool to honeymoon in Paris! Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to both of you!
ReplyDeleteWe were very lucky to have had such a great honeymoon.
DeleteWow! I traded travel and excitement for a cushy life in Ohio suburbia. So, looking at these photos, the word 'lame' comes to mind, describing me. LOL
ReplyDeleteDon't knock it - a cushy life sounds absolutely heavenly at times to me.
Delete토토 Heya i'm for the first time here. I came across this board and I find
