Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:
1 - We recently helped a friend bring his boat back from the Bahamas to Florida. He's a keen fisherman and put his line out every chance he got. While he didn't get the much hoped for mahi-mahi, he did get a couple of snapper and a barracuda.
2 - Scott and I have always been a little worried about eating certain kinds of fish in the Bahamas due to the possibility of contracting ciguatera poisoning. I know people who've had ciguatera and it sounds just awful - gasterointestinal and neurological symptoms can last for years.
3 - Snapper (like the one pictured above) can carry ciguatera, but if you eat smaller specimens, then your risk is supposedly lower. We did end up eating this one and the good news is that everyone survived.
What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?
