We're back from the Bahamas!
Lots of stories and pictures to share in the coming weeks. I'll need to get cracking and pull some blog posts together.
But in the meantime, I thought I'd show you one of the things that made me smile when we were in Marsh Harbour. This plaque is from a memorial garden. I love how it describes this lovely lady as having been the town's chocolate cake maker and how she spent her life caring for others. So sweet!
What would you like to be remembered for? What are some of the most interesting grave stones or memorials you've seen?
Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteJust being remembered will be enough for me.
That sounds good to me too :)
DeleteWelcome back from your Bahamas adventure. I'm sure there will be many posts to chronicle your adventure.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week. ♥
Thanks, Sandee! It's good to be back.
DeleteCan't wait to see your photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane. Scott got some good ones.
DeleteWelcome back. Look forward to the pictures and details.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendy. It feels like I've been away for a long time!
DeleteSo glad you have been out enjoying life, looking forward to hearing more about it! Since both my Mother, and Father, and extended families came from the same area, the local cemetery is filled with my history, and is a fascinating visit.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cool that your cemetery is full of your family history!
DeleteWelkome back to normalcy and blogging. :-) I hope you had a fab time in the Bahamas. Missed you on the last IWSG day. If I could inspire anyone to live a life less ordinary, then that’s what I’d like to be remembered for.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, that is what you'll be remembered for!
DeleteSo glad you had a good time and got back safely!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite tombstones had
Here Lies "Joe Smith"
Who died over a woman's honor.
She wanted to keep it.
Ha, ha, ha. Lovely twist. Geoff.
DeleteLove it!
DeleteHi Ellen, I was wondering what happened to stop you from writing interesting blog posts. I'm sure you had a fantastic time. Nice to be back on the water even though your palace is still on the hard.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to the pair of you, Geoff in South Africa.
Thanks, Geoff. It was a bit bittersweet - nice to be on the water, but it would have been so much nicer to have done it on our boat.
DeleteWelcome back! I can't wait to see those pictures and hear about your adventures. How 'sweet' that she was a baker and so caring!
ReplyDeleteShe sounds like she was a lovely lady :)
DeleteWelcome back! What a wonderful way to be remembered. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is sweet :)
DeleteWelcome back! You were missed.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to think that I've made a difference in some way, at least to my students. If my books have touched someone, so much the better.
Thanks, J.H.!
DeleteI'm positive that you've made a huge difference to your students!
