Q Is For Quejar {To Complain} | A To Z Challenge

As part of my ongoing efforts to learn Spanish, I'm highlighting a different Spanish word each day during April as part of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I'm also sharing the random thoughts that pop into my head when I try to pronounce them.

* * *

Today's Spanish word is >>quejar<< (to complain). And now for some random thoughts:

1 - I thought about picking >>queso<< (cheese) for today's word. Everyone loves cheese, don't they? Except for vegans. Imagine not eating cheese or bacon? Remind me again why anyone would want to go vegan.

2 -  If I was a vegan, I would probably complain about a lack of cheese and bacon in my diet.

3 - Fortunately, I don't have much to complain about. I've been very lucky in life.

Pretend like the comments section is a complaints box and tell us what's bugging you lately. What's your favorite word that starts with "Q"?

Thanks for stopping by our blog - we love it when people come visit! We're also on Facebook - pop by and say hi!

  1. Well, i decided i was tired of being obese, so i started working on getting bad stuff out of my diet, and by the time i'd lost all the weight i was a vegan, so i stuck with it to not gain the weight back. It works for me, although i admit it is not for everyone.

As to complaints, i can only think about hoe bad the traffic is around here as my big complaint. Even though i am a teetotal, i swear the traffic here could turn even me into a drinking woman!

    1. That's fantastic - well done! I was actually a vegetarian (not a vegan) for five years. It's a really great way to eat for such a variety of ways. I do tie with going back to it from time to time, but...bacon. :-)

  2. I was expecting a complain about the word itself, because its difficult pronunciation... ;)

  3. Okay, here's my complaint. And as usual it's also a mixed blessing. All I want to do is write while people keep making requests of my time, to talk and even travel. Ugh... Why do people like being around me? I end up feeling tired and cranky half the time afterward, sometimes during (!). The word queen comes to mind due to a story just read on another blog. It is the name for a female cat who's birthed kittens and the band made amazing music. ~grin~ Be well!

    1. It's funny how some complaints are really about mixed blessings. From your blog and your comments, I can see why people like being around you - you seem like a lot of fun :-)

  4. My complaint is that I'm suddenly craving cheesy nachos and it's only 7 am . . . and we don't have any queso.

  5. All the political hatred. I'm sick and tired of it. If you're conservative or christian you're the enemy. Oh and if you're white. I'm sick, sick sick of the hatred.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

    1. I'm quite dismayed about how politically divided this country is and all of the divisiveness.

  6. Quejarse solo para ventilar = this is my chance to vent, well sort of. Can I complain about the 'bacon'? Why does everyone talk about bacon, especially in games? Now, if it was cookies - or 'Manchega queso'.....

    1. I'm not sure what it is about bacon that so many of us adore. Do they really talk about bacon in games - how odd.

    2. Cookies make sense perhaps but bacon makes me wonder - hunger?

  7. I agree with Darla - "All I want to do is write while people keep making requests of my time, to talk and even travel. Ugh... Why do people like being around me?"

Time to make myself into someone that people want to avoid LOL
