Random Stuff For A Rainy Day

All I have for you today is a bunch of random thoughts.

It's been rainy here. And windy. Really windy.

Our boat is up on the hard, basically propped up on stilts. It's like living in a weird tree house. I kept wondering if the wind was going to topple it over during the middle of the night. It didn't. That was a relief.

Rainy, windy days make me want to take naps.

Naps are better with cats cuddled up around you. We don't have any cats. If we could have a cat, we'd adopt Garfield, one of the marina cats. He's a great cat.

We still don't have any resolution on our boat, so we continue to be in waiting mode. It sounds like the weather in the Bahamas has been atrocious - cold front after cold front - so maybe it's not such a bad thing that we're stuck up on the hard in Florida.

Does that sound like rationalization? I think so too. It'd be so much better to be in the Bahamas right now.

Do you know what's great on a rainy, windy day? Pancakes. Lots and lots of pancakes.

What's the most embarrassing show that you find yourself compulsively watching on TV? I'd tell you what I binge watched yesterday, but you'd probably think less of me.

Okay, I'll tell you. Baby Ballroom Dancing. Phew. It feels good to get that off of my chest.

What's been happening in your neck of the woods?

  3. Hopefully the weather clears up and you're fixed up soon. Mmm... pancakes...

  4. You can have my pancakes. It's a texture thing and they are soggy. I'll have sausage and eggs.

I'd had to be on the hard when it's blowing outside. That would be quite disconcerting.

Have a fabulous day and week. ♥

  5. I've been perversely pleased about the bad weather in the Bahamas. Hopefully you'll get things sorted just as the cold front season ends but before hurricane season begins. That's my plan!

  6. Just like they say a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work, i would imagine a cold day in the Bahamas would be better than stuck in a cracked boat in Florida. Hope it all gets taken care of soon.

  7. That's not a rationalization, it's making the best of where you're stuck. And now, I want some pancakes.

  8. Well, maybe it's a teensy bit on the rationalization side, but a spoonful of rationalization helps the reality go down. I hope your boat is ready to go before ya know it. In the meantime? Enjoy your pancakes.

  9. Hmmm, pancakes, I could do pancakes about now. Bill is going traveling today, so maybe I'll make pancakes for myself for dinner!

  10. Yum. Pancakes...with chocolate chips or pecans or berries. Hope you aren't stranded too much longer.

  11. Yep cats and pancakes and naps sound like a good recipe for coping with horrible weather.

  12. Here, this should help - no it wouldn't be better in the Bahamas with bad weather. Maybe if you were on land, but not on a tiny boat that bounces up and down with the wind. Being in limbo does suck, though. I hope things get resolved soon.

We watch lots of bad TV. Once we start something we stick to it to the end no matter how bad it is for some reason. IMDB gave Baby Ballroom Dancing an 8.5 - so maybe it's not all that bad.

  13. I've been watching lots of true-crime docs and I suppose true-crime reality shows, if that's a thing. One of my favorites is "Reasonable Doubt," where a retired detective and a prosecutor talk to family members who are convinced their loved one has been wrongfully convicted. The detective and lawyer track down the leads they are given, and if there's enough evidence, the show pays for a private investigator to get the convict a new trial.

More often than not, though, it's wishful thinking and the family gets a rude awakening.

And what do you mean, you don't have a cat?! What about Simon? No wonder he's irritable.
