Wordless Wednesday | Fun Library Display
Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:
1 - I think one of the fun parts of a librarian's job would be to put together displays of books based on various themes.
2 - This particular one caught my eye. The sign reads: "Families more dysfunctional than yours."
3 - I love how they used an old card catalog to display the books.
What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

That is hilarious! Probably makes most people feel good about themselves.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I thought it was very creative.
DeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I remember actually using those card catalogs to look things up for research papers....
I remember card catalogs as well. Does that mean I'm old?
DeleteI remember using a card catalog while working for the Sheriff's Department. Everyone pretty much has this kind of system back in the day.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Ellen. ♥
It was about the only way you could keep things organized before computers.
DeleteHa! That's a wonderful display. I like that *Probably. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful season!
It's a good disclaimer :-)
DeleteLOL! I love it. That's why people watch trashy shows like Springer - they are looking for families more screwed up than their own.
ReplyDeleteSo true - you always feel better about yourself when you know there's someone worse off than you.
DeleteThat’s wonderful! Why di I never think of that?
ReplyDeleteI bet you had some very creative library displays of your own.
DeleteLOL, that's funny!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was funny too :-)
DeleteThat is quite clever! When i was young, i wanted to be a librarian.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to be a librarian as well.
DeleteThat is awesome! Our library does themes like that too. Currently it's Christmas, of course! I'd love to have an old card catalog in my office. I'd totally find enough little stuff to put in it! *LOL*
ReplyDeleteA card catalog at home would be an awesome idea!
DeleteIt just dawned on me how fun it would be to own an old card catalog. That would be perfect for storing small items. And that's a very clever display. Makes one stop and think, too, me especially in this era where my father won't talk to us over a stupid little misunderstanding. ~sigh~ What can you do? I'm done dealing with that bitter old man. (Sorry; I dump on folks every now and then... Heh...) Be well!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your father. Hopefully, things resolve themselves soon.
DeleteThat's a doggone clever hook to attract people to those books. And the card catalog? (sigh) I miss 'em... :)
ReplyDeleteThose were the days :-)
DeleteThat is pretty funny! I love humorous librarians. Did you get the shot in Portland?
ReplyDeleteI did - it was at the Central Library in downtown.
DeleteHi Ellen.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your's.
It took me a while to see how they got those books to stay where they were put but this morning I saw how they had done it, clever.
I went to a secondhand bookstore yesterday to get some old books for my daughter's husband's children, Wow, what a mess. Nothing categorized, no alphabetical order and so on and so on. Just lots of shelves piled high with old books.
I think owning a second hand book store requires a quite bit of librarian skill to say the least.
Blessings from South Africa, Geoff.
I love second hand bookstores. There's treasure to be discovered in them.
DeleteWhat a perfect display of books for people just about to spend lots of time with their families!
ReplyDeleteHope you and Scott are having a great holiday!
Exactly :-)
