Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:
1 - Since the weather has cooled down a bit, we've been trying to go for walks in the morning. There's not a lot of places to walk to in Indiantown which is why we found ourselves walking up a dirt road to the local scrapyard.
2 - Humans throw away a lot of stuff in their lifetime.
3 - Did you notice the picture of the saddle in the dumpster?
4 - What's the most interesting thing you've disposed of or recycled lately?

What do these pictures remind me of? Junk. I'm trying to think of something I've thrown away. Nothing comes to mind. I might need more coffee.

DeleteYes, we throw away a lot of stuff -- that's why archaeologists can figure out so much about how people lived by digging up their trash.

ReplyDeleteYesterday, while hanging up the washing on a new rotating washing line, I was thinking about just this subject. The old one has been replaced but instead of throwing it away I've been working on it and am giving it to someone who doesn't have one. The word that I looked up yesterday on Google was "Frugal." How about that.

DeleteI don't have an interesting answer to that question but can tell you that anything we put out on the curb gets rifled through by others looking for useful scrap. Even our busted down loveseat got hauled away the day before garbage collection. The funniest thing that ever happened was the time years ago when someone picked up our broken lawnmower and then returned it the next day. Heh... I don't know why they couldn't dispose of it unless they were, sad to speculate, homeless. Keep up the exercise!

DeleteOne man's garbage is another's treasure. Someone who was good with metal would have a field day sifting through that stuff.

My boat is looking quite cluttered just now. Might be time to start chucking some things.
DeleteScrap yards are amazing places. I'm trying to get my son to help me with a 'dump run' within the next couple of weeks. (to get rid of trash, just so that's clear :) )
