Wordless Wednesday | A+ Grade

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - A friend did me a favor the other day by proofreading something. She used to be a schoolteacher so she gave me a grade and put a sticker on my paper. It was so cute.

2 - I didn't often see A+ grades on my homework and tests when I was in school.

3 - We like to grade things in our society - we assign stars for book reviews, we grade eggs by how big they are, and we have performance reviews at work.

4 - Schoolteachers are really undervalued in the States. I really don't get it. After all, we entrust them with our most important resource - our children.

What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

  1. Well done! I didn't see A+ when I was in high school. I did much better in college.

    1. Oh, that's funny :-) I've had friends say that my book sounds exactly like me. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

  3. Reminds me of school that's what it reminds me of. Not a bad thing. I never minded school but didn't really put a lot of effort in until I went to college. I then worked hard. It paid off too.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Ellen. ♥

    1. I'm the same way. Coasted through HS then got more serious in college.

  5. A+ - good job!

School teachers are so busy trying to drill test material into kids' heads and play policeman that they really don't have time to teach them anymore.

    1. That whole teaching to the test is just crazy. No one seems to learn anything other than how to pass a test these days.

    1. That's probably good advice not to buy a boat. They cost a lot and take a lot of time :-)

  7. Same situation over here with teachers. They have my complete admiration.

  8. Congratulations, Ellen! :-) I never tire of your writing style. I used the be a school teacher as well, and that profession is underrated in Belgium too. It’s a strange thing.

    1. I didn't realize you used to be a teacher! How sad that teaching is undervalued in other countries too.

  9. Reminds me of school. I was the nerdiest kind of nerd... I loved school. Loved my teachers, too, for the most part, but you're right. It's ridiculous how most underappreciated most teachers are... not to mention underpaid.

Ya know, for a lot of people not buying a boat is very wise advise. :)
