Dear Catfish,
Please stop dying next to my boat and stinking up the place.
Dear Mister Rogers,
I wish you had been my neighbor.
Dear Indiantown Party Posse,
The place isn't the same without you.
Dear Perimenopause,
Enough is enough already.
Dear Ellen,
Maybe you shouldn't write down everything that pops into your head.
Dear Simon the Time Traveling Cat,
I know that you're imaginary, but sometimes it feels like you're real, especially when I've run out of milk.
Dear People who Pre-Ordered my Book,
Thank you!
Dear Aldi,
I love that you don't have much of a selection. Sometimes, too much of a choice at the grocery store can be overwhelming.
Dear Aldi,
Sorry, it's me again. When are you going to restock the cheese tortellini? They're an important part of my diet.
Dear Clothes Dryer,
Please stop shrinking my waistbands. I know you're the one responsible. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with eating too much cheese tortellini.
Dear Person I Stole this Idea From,
Sorry, I don't remember who you are, otherwise I would have given you credit. Writing little letters makes for a fun blog post. Thanks!
When's the last time you wrote a proper letter, not an email? Go ahead and leave your own little letter in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by our blog - we love it when people come visit! We're also on Facebook - pop by and say hi!

From time to time, in every blog that isn't about snail mail appears a post snail-mail-related! And I like it! Also, I love the idea of the mini-letters, so maybe I'm going to steal it from you...
ReplyDeleteAnd about the question When's the last time you wrote a proper letter, not an email? , the answer is yesterday. Actually, it would be always this morning, yesterday or two days ago, but not more far (if postcards count, of course).
And... do you still write e-mails? I think nobody is writing e-mails any more, or scarcely. E-mail, in my opinion, has been relegated to official matters or commercial newsletters.
You are one of the people who is keeping letter writing alive :-)
DeleteLOL! Those are kind of like Jimmy Fallon's Friday thank you cards.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had an Aldi near us. I'd like to check it out.
Aldi is fantastic. I hope they open one near you soon.
DeleteSo fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd cheese tortellini, you say? Hmm, an Aldi just opened near us.... :)
Oh, go check it out - it's a great place to shop!
DeleteDear Ellen,
ReplyDeleteIt was sooo good to see you again! Also, I selfishly hope you are still there when we return in the fall...
Sincerely,
Proud member of the Indiantown Marina Party Posse
Dear Chris,
DeleteIt was great to see you too! Sadly, I fear we will be here when you return in the fall :-(
Sincerely,
Your fellow Indiantown Marina Party Posse member
Dear Ellen:
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your boating life with me. I've enjoyed seeing the trials and tribulations and then all the fun boating brings to you.
Have a fabulous day and weekend.
Love,
Your blogging buddy and fellow boater!
Dear Sandee,
DeleteThanks so much for popping by and saying hi on the blog so regularly. It's always nice to see a comment from you.
Could the person be Elaine and her Friday Letters on “I used to be indecisive”?
ReplyDeleteI have waistbands like that. Funny …
No - I've never heard of that blog, but I'm going to check it out.
DeleteWhat a fun idea for a post! I got a kick out of your mini-letters. Especially the ones to Aldi's I agree about it being easier to shop when there are less choices. I also agree with you about the darned clothes dryer. Must be a conspiracy, eh?
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a conspiracy :-)
DeleteIt’s a great idea, and of course the cheese tortellini has nothing to do with shrinking waistbands. May i suggest hanging clothes to dry instead, they don’t shrink that way.
ReplyDeleteAnd i do write letters on occasion, just not often enough.
That's the secret - hanging clothes :-)
DeleteDear Ellen, I love this blog posts and your funny, little letters. Also, I’m jealous that there’s an Aldi near you. That explains some of your cheap grocery bills!
ReplyDeleteI used to write postcards and hand-written letters to my dear Oma (grandma), but, unfortunately, she has passed away. Now, I only write a postcard from different locations for my niece and nephew’s birthdays.
Isn't this a fun idea? Aldi is definitely a real secret to cheap (and delicious) eating.
DeleteHere goes: I am writing this thank you note to thank you for your note thanking me for the hostess gift I brought to you the other night. (wonder how long this thanking business needs to go on?)
ReplyDeleteOh, I know that endless thank you trap where you can't figure out when there have been enough thank yous. Kind of like when text convos go on for ages.
DeleteInteresting Little Letters.... that might be a fit for me at some point. People don’t write letters so much now... I blogged on that. https://everyonehasafamilystorytotell.wordpress.com/2015/01/26/family-stories-snail-mail-letters/
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun idea - you should do it :-)
DeleteDear Aldi,
ReplyDeleteAs a loyal member of your cult I wish you would build more temples in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah so I can continue to worship your inexpensive idols and fill your coffers as I travel out west. Some temples in Mexico would be great too.
Dear future buyer of my boat,
Please buy my boat soon.
Dear rain,
Really, we appreciate all the hard work you do, but please take a long vacation - perhaps in sunny California or some else far away.
Dear Ellen,
There are still two cookies on the table.
If there was an award for best Little Letter comment, you would be the winner :-)
DeletePS You're lucky those cookies survived as long as they did.
