Today, I'm featuring a cover reveal for >>Blue Sludge Blues & Other Abominations<< by Shannon Lawrence. Isn't that a creepy book cover? It makes me wonder about what's hidden behind the door, although, to be honest, I think I'd be too scared to check it out.
BOOK DESCRIPTION: A collection of
frights, from the psychological to the monstrous. These tales are a
reminder of how much we have to fear: a creature lurking in the blue,
sludgy depths of a rest area toilet; a friendly neighbor with a dark
secret hidden in his basement; a woman with nothing more to lose
hellbent on vengeance; a hike gone terribly wrong for three friends;
a man cursed to clean up the bodies left behind by an inhuman force.
These and other stories prowl the pages of this short story
collection.
RELEASE DATE: March 15, 2018

BIO: A fan of all things fantastical
and frightening, Shannon Lawrence writes primarily horror and
fantasy. Her stories can be found in magazines and anthologies,
including Space and Time Magazine, Dark Moon Digest, and
Spinetingler. Though she often misses the ocean, the majestic and
rugged Rockies are a sight she could never part with. Besides, in
Colorado there's always a place to hide a body or birth a monster.
What more could she ask for?

Would you be brave enough to see what's behind that door?

I think it's a wicked cool cover. The blood is a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteHorror covers need blood!
DeleteOh, another book I want to read! ~sigh~ So many things to read, so little time, and money. ~grin~ Right now I'm reading a free (!) serial. It's great, a ghost story and romance. The angst is amazing. I told the writer she needs to set up a donation site. Heh... I just told someone about you in case you fellow sailors haven't met online or in real life. Her blog is: https://comedy-plus.com/ Be well!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I forgot what I really wanted to say! Silly me. I was going to say that whether or not I opened the door would depend upon how bad I needed to use the toilet. ~grin~ Thanks for sharing this.
DeleteThat's a good way to look at it. Personally, I wouldn't open that door. ;)
DeleteI know Comedy Plus :-) It's fun to read her posts on boating, as well as her adorable cat and dog pictures on Aww...Mondays
DeleteI'd be brave enough in the light of day. At night? I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend, Ellen. ♥
Definitely not at night! Though, as it turns out, it's pretty dangerous during the day, too.
DeleteI'm way too big a baby to open that door. I saw that cover elsewhere, though, and it is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing my cover!
ReplyDeleteIt was my pleasure :-)
DeleteCool cover, even if it DOES dredge up childhood terrors. :)
ReplyDeleteThe outhouse that sat behind my uncle's cabin didn't look that scary in reality, but walking to it after dark sure FELT that terrifying.
Good luck with the new book! It sounds utterly horrifying. :)
