Wordless Wednesday | Valentine's Day

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - If you like free vintage, royalty-free images, look no further than The Graphics Fairy. That's where I got these cute valentines.

2 - Scott and I don't do the whole Valentine's Day thing. It's way too much pressure.

3 - Exchanging Valentine's Day cards in elementary school was such a big thing. I remember decorating a shoe box with construction paper and lace doilies to turn it into a "mailbox" for my classmates to put their cards into.

What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

  1. Those are old Valentines all right.
We exchange gifts, but we don't do anything else out of the ordinary. Certainly don't go out to dinner! That would be insane on this day.

    1. I bet it would be hard to reserve a table on Valentine's Day. I'd rather eat in :-)

  2. We both usually get a card in the post. No idea who from, none at all.

  3. I think I remember handing out valentines like those in elementary school! My husband and I don't do Valentines Day either. I do participate in the big event tomorrow though: buying chocolate on sale. :)

  5. Hubby and I do cards. I got a beautiful one this morning. Hubby is thoughtful that way. No gifts though. We stopped that years ago.

I so remember the Valentines cards we did as kids. It was a lot of fun.

Have a fabulous day and Happy Valentines Day. ♥

  6. What a fun website to get graphics! I'm not really in search of these kinds of graphics right now, but maybe this knowledge will come in handy one day? Those Valentine's graphics are pretty cute! :)

My husband and I don't really do Valentine's Day either. For us, it's about money. I mean do I really need expensive flowers that will die in 2 days? Or expensive chocolate that will make me fat when I could just wait a day or two, buy it on sale, and then get fat? I mean, what's my hurry? 😛 I do take candy to the kids I babysit for, though. (But I buy the candy on sale at Christmas! Shhh… 😮😉)

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday no matter what you do with it! :)

    1. It can be a really big expense. I think buying candy on sale after it's over it a really smart idea. Chocolate is good all the time, not just on Feb 14th :-)

  7. Valentine's day is my second favorite celebration after New Year's! I'm a terribly unromantic person, but on one day a year, it's kind of nice to go out of my way to indulge in the romantic ideas.

    1. I bet your cards were fantastic. That's one of your hobbies, isn't it - lovely homemade cards.

  10. Did you collect a lot of cards in your shoe box back in the day? I don't think I ever received a Valentine's card. Like you and Scott, we are not into the whole thing. Every day should be Valentine's Day. I hope you "at least" had a phone call with your sweetheart today. :-)

    1. I think you had to give cards to ever person in the class, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, it would have just ended up as some sort of popularity contest with lots of hurt feelings.

  11. I know what you mean about not really marking Valentine's Day. You should do something romantic every day!
