Wordless Wednesday | Sailboats & A Ferris Wheel, Scarborough, England
Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:
1 - Scott took this photo when he was working outside of York. He took a drive to Scarborough on one of his days off.
2 - I'm pretty sure he took the photo because of all the sailboats.
3 - I would have taken it because of the Ferris wheel.
4 - Ferris wheels are fun. Especially when you can see sailboats from them.
What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

I wouldn't be able to see the sailboats from the ferris wheel because my eyes would be closed and I'd be praying. I'd much rather just look at this photo!
ReplyDeleteI get a little nervous on Ferris wheels too.
DeleteGreat shot. This reminds me of relaxation. I love all things boats.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺
I bet it's a very relaxing place to visit and have fun.
DeleteI remember from my youth a chair-o-plane ride that was so close to the harbour you were swinging out over it. I think that was Scarborough.
ReplyDeleteThat ride probably would have freaked me out a little :-)
DeleteGreat picture. I do like the lines of sailboats, but the colorful Ferris wheel is definitely eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely what caught my eye.
DeleteThis makes me think, what a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI bet people were out there having fun and being happy.
DeleteIronically, I didn't even notice the ferris wheel. My eyes raced long the boats, back along the protective shoreline, then back out to the water, then the hillside. I'm a fan of water and mountains. :)
ReplyDeleteAh...very interesting you didn't notice the Ferris wheel.
DeleteThis makes me think of memories. We went to Scarborough seven years ago with our daughter (one at the time). Gloriously sunny day, we saw this marina quay part from the beach.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, you've actually been there. How neat!
DeleteIt's an interesting combination of both boats and Ferris Wheel.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was an interesting photo too.
DeleteKind of reminds me of the Santa Monica Pier in California (USA)! They look nothing alike, but it must be the ferris wheel. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been to Santa Monica Pier - fun place!
DeleteNice photo! Nothing comes to mind at the moment, except wishing I were there. ~grin~ Be well!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was there too :-)
DeleteLovely capture. Landscape is beautiful! Covering more of ferry wheel in the picture would have made it even more interesting!
ReplyDeleteMore of the Ferris wheel would have been nice, but I think Scott probably didn't even notice it when he took the picture. He was far more focused on the boats.
DeleteI adore this photo. That sky melts me. Also, I want to walk around that boardwalk and check out all the boats.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a great place for a walk.
DeleteMy reaction to the picture seems to be different from everybody else's. I see a whole herd of boats huddled together within that semi-enclosed area when there's all of that gorgeous open water beyond the boardwalks just waiting to be enjoyed. I'm a social critter, but one of the things I like about boats is the sense of freedom and of being one with nature, (corny, but true) so the juxtaposition of the boats with a Ferris wheel gives me a feeling of disconnect, if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteThat's such an interesting take on it, Susan. I love the sense of freedom and being with nature that our boat brings to us too. Makes total sense and not corny at all. :-)
