Wordless Wednesday | Up The Mast At Indiantown Marina
Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:
1 - I had to go up the mast of our sailboat to check the rigging.
2 - This is what Indiantown Marina looks like from above.
3 - Our mast is about 46 feet above the water.
4 - Did I mention I'm afraid of heights?
What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

I'm afraid of heights, too. I'd never have climbed up a mast. But look what wonders I'd have missed!

I don't know - this might have been a wonder I could have missed :-)
DeleteBut if you hadn't climbed up there, you would've had taken that great shot!
ReplyDeleteI bet I would have enjoyed seeing someone else's shot from up there :-)
DeleteLove the photo! And I'd say it was worth the climb. Right? Did you at least get a cookie or two when you came down? :)
ReplyDeleteThere weren't any cookies, but there was a beer.
DeleteWhat a lovely marina. Great shot too.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid of heights too.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺
It is a nice marina :-)
DeleteDitto on being afraid of heights, but I've always wanted to go up the mast to see what the boat looks like from the top. I haven't done it yet, though. Kudos for making it up there yourself!
ReplyDeleteStephanie @ SV CAMBRIA
I still can't believe I did it.
DeleteI love it and am jealous. I like to go up the mast and have even volunteered to help other boaters at our club with masthead repairs. (I always take my camera too.)
ReplyDeleteWow - we sure could have used you around here :-)
DeleteI don't know....I'm trying to wrap my head around going up the mast. Ever. I wonder how you managed to unwrap your arms from the mast in order to get down.
ReplyDeleteThere were mud dauber wasps that freaked me out so I let go of the mast to try to get away from them.
DeleteHoly Moly! I'm not sure I could ever accomplish this. I would forget to breathe!
ReplyDeleteI think I forgot to breathe too at one point.
DeleteThe marina looks beautiful. I'm not afraid of heights if I'm secure. The mast doesn't sound secure.......
ReplyDeleteI sure hope our mast is secure :-)
DeleteBeautiful. I love heights. I'll climb the pole for you next time.
ReplyDeleteI'll remember that next time we need someone to go up :-)
DeleteThis is a gorgeous photo, but I wish we had a pic of you on the mast!
ReplyDeleteYour wish may in fact come true - keep an eye on the blog.
DeleteWait... You're only 46' tall? You Could do the Okeechobee Waterway! Didn't realize Tickity Boo was that short.
ReplyDeleteNo tipping needed for us :-)
Delete"That is a well-protected marina!" is the first thing that goes through my head. Mark is afraid of heights as well and on our first boat, I was the one going aloft. On Irie, he had gotten over his fear and it was my turn to crank him up. Good exercise, especially in the heat and humidity of the tropics!
ReplyDeleteIt's very well protected. Off of a canal and between two sets of locks.
DeleteWhat words come to mind? Slightly cloudy, but not enough to stop sailing fun! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat words :-)
DeleteYou did well for being afraid of heights. I would say the marina looks very serene.
ReplyDeleteSerene is a very good description of it.
DeleteLove it. Very 'peaceful' in Indiantown!
