Wordless Wednesday | Soylent Green
Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:
1 - Yes, the water has really been that green at Indiantown Marina thanks to Algal bloom. Ick.
2 - Reminds me of the 1973 dystopian movie Soylent Green which depicted what the world would be like in the far off future of 2022. Maybe this isn't algal bloom, but something far more sinister.
3 - The alligators have to be loving it. Perfect camouflage.
What words does this picture bring to your mind when you look at it?

Thanks for stopping by our blog - we love it when people come visit! We're also on Facebook - pop by and say hi!
Nice colour but not for the water! And wouldn't want to be encouraging alligators.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of torn - it is an interesting color, but it's so gross and a bit stinky :-)
DeleteWell we all have our water issues. Yours is green water. It's not a pretty green either.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ☺
That's true - there are many issues with water all over the world.
DeleteYou said it. That green is too great a camouflage for sea monsters. Dislike.
ReplyDeleteOh no - I hadn't thought about sea monsters! There are probably a number or weird critters lurking underneath that alga bloom :-(
DeleteScary that gators are hiding there.
ReplyDeleteI've actually gotten used to the idea that alligators live in the marina, which surprises me to no end.
DeleteWow - I thought it was a really cool color until I got to the word alligator.
ReplyDeleteActually, the more that I think about it, alligators are a darker green, so maybe I'll be able to spot them better in the alga bloom :-)
DeleteEeeeew
ReplyDeleteWant to go for a swim in it?
Deletewhat comes to mind is "I sure don't want to fall in! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI know! I was kitty sitting a few weeks back and the cat fell in the water. Imagine how gross kitty would have been if she had fallen into this stuff. Ick.
DeleteYuck indeed. Looks radio-active, but still looks better than some of the water we have seen in other places. Can you paint with it? :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're so creative :-) I could try painting with it, but I'd be afraid I'd catch some sort of disease.
DeleteI like the color, but I have to admit that it is kind of weird :D Pawkisses :) <3
ReplyDeleteIt is very weird! Thanks for popping by :-)
DeleteI did an oral report in a university classroom a couple of years ago, and used Soylent Green as a example. None of the "youngsters" in the class knew the reference. I feel old.... Otherwise, I'm with the others here...ewwwww.
ReplyDeleteDonna/Denali Rose
That's funny! I've mentioned the Soylent Green comparison to a number of people at the marina and the "youngsters" have no idea what I'm talking about :-)
