I've Gone To The Dark Side - It's Called Facebook

Yes, it's true. I've gone to the dark side and set up a Facebook account for our blog. I swore to myself that I would never, never, ever join Facebook. I also never, never, ever thought I would start a blog. It is amazing what happens when a demon spirit possesses your body - suddenly you learn what the term "social media" means and then you start blogging and Facebooking. But on the other hand, now I can enter contests and join Facebook groups which talk about things like sailing and exorcism.

But, please, I beg you, if I ever start to use Twitter, just shoot me. Actually, because it is the demon spirit that has possessed me which is making me blog and Facebook, you'll probably have to drive some sort of stake through my heart to make sure my online presence dies with my physical body.

Anyway, apparently I'm supposed to want everyone to like me now. I'm hoping to use all of these handy tips suggested by The Oatmeal to increase my likeability. {Tip: If you aren't a fan of satire and really weird cartoons which compare babies to pink goblins, then you might not want to click on the link. Consider yourself warned. But if you like cartoons about why bacon is better than true love, then head on over.}

So if you want to check out our new Facebook site and like the social media-happy demon possessing me, you can find it here. Meanwhile, Scott is busy looking in the kitchen drawers for a stake.

  1. LOL - I already liked you, and I'll bet all your other readers do too. But just so you know it's true, I liked your new FB page.

  2. I too went to the dark side. But only because we got really tired of having REAL friends that would tell us about something they had posted on FB. So, I would go to check it out but couldn’t review any content without being forced to the Zuckerberg world conspiracy to open a page. I mean seriously, doesn’t he have enough money now that he can let outsiders view content without having to open a page.

    Eventually we added a page under the Cream Puff name and now at least we can visit our friend’s pages. And, after spending a little time on FB ~ I just don’t get it.

    I spent a little time installing a WordPress app on our blog to automatically populate the FB page when we post. This way we do not have to go to FB. Last I checked we still did not have any likes. It is so sad. I don’t know if live on anymore. So very sad.

    I did find a site if you want more likes. There are companies that will add them to your page. For about US$50, 5,000 likes will appear from fake people. What has the world come to? I can now buy fake friends to "like" me.

    All the best,

    1. I have now liked you guys. And I didn't even charge $50! Crazy what people will sell and buy.

      This whole Facebook thing is crazy - for years, every time someone said are you on Facebook, you have to get on Facebook etc. I resisted. And now finally I've caved in and it is all to do with sailing. There is this Women Who Sail Facebook group I keep reading about and I thought would be interesting to join. Not sure if Cindy is part of it? Only catch - you have to be on Facebook. So I've gone ahead and moved to the dark side! Hopefully, they let me join otherwise I'll have sold my soul to the devil for nothing :-)

      4 people have liked our Facebook page today so now I can go to bed feeling validated about my self-worth. I'll sleep so much better :-)

We LOVE when people leave comments. It's so much more fun hearing what you have to say. If you have a blog, make sure you leave a link and I'll be sure to pop on by.
