We met some people who had done it and they said it was incredible seeing the canyon from down below. I think we spent about 30 minutes on the south rim since it was sort of meh looking down on it (after all the hype). In my opinion to really experience the beauty of it, you have to go down into it and get the 3 dimensional effect. I am going to do that someday.bumblesbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15596427969688285273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-80613732810549638602014-12-31T06:30:51.440-08:002014-12-31T06:30:51.440-08:00It definitely got better on the South Rim :-)It definitely got better on the South Rim :-)The Cynical Sailorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11047491682363507834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-35768750692988730472014-12-14T09:45:19.122-08:002014-12-14T09:45:19.122-08:00Maybe the experience of feeling "awe" ca...Maybe the experience of feeling "awe" can only be had at the South rim :)

Mark and Cindy
s/v Cream PuffMark and Cindy - s/v Cream Puffhttp://www.creampuff.usnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-51938165819474864892014-12-13T07:20:53.793-08:002014-12-13T07:20:53.793-08:00I saw that balcony - I bet it would be an amazing ...I saw that balcony - I bet it would be an amazing place to take in the views. We went to the south rim too. So much more crowded but more to see and do in some ways. They loved it! We met people who hiked rim to rim and said it was amazing down by the river. It's a shame everything was closed because the balcony of the main lodge is a nice place to sit down in a rocking chair, have a beer and take in the view. If I had to guess, though, I'd say day two went better because you were beyond the initial "hype" of the Grand Canyon.TheCambrianshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05015446833388176523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-56056817440819887722014-12-12T08:07:36.191-08:002014-12-12T08:07:36.191-08:00I've still never been to the grand canyon alth...I've still never been to the grand canyon although I've been close a number of times. I have the feeling that it won't wow me either, so I've never wanted to make the extra couple hour trip in the car... I have heard that the hieroglyphics on the cave walls inside are pretty neat, and you can go white water river rafting (seasonally). I hope your second day was better than the first :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550713528377143307noreply@blogger.com
