I've neve...The colors of the water are amazing! I've never seen so many different shades of blue and green. When you're sailing there you really have to pay attention to the water color. Certain colors mean the water is super shallow and you could ground your boat. I be...I think it is quite different in New Zealand. I believe you have to let them know 48 hours in advance that you will be entering their waters and then proceed directly to a port of entry. Lots of cruisers clear in at Opua. We never had to do it as we just cruised within NZ.
