Not as much in some books as others, but it was still all good.

Good to hear how much you enjoyed Shannon's book. What a nice idea to post about the book...Hey there! What a nice idea to post about the books you are reading... I'm an avid reader, and often I am curious what other people think about the books I read - but am too much of a loner to join a book club! Now I'm reading 1Q84 - (takes place in Japan) - did you read that one too? It's fascinating! very surreal - Murakami at his best. Give a shout if you want to hear more about it, or if you have read it and want to share thoughts!Study Leaks Amsterdamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05046398568648428849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-39248924928987499972018-03-25T05:26:24.912-07:002018-03-25T05:26:24.912-07:00Hear that? Not only did you get to read a bunch of terrific books, but you learned about other countries and cultures. And history! Win-win!

The book I most recently read is Shannon Lawrence's collection of short stories. Wow! That gal has a seriously twisted mind, and I mean that in the best possible way. King and Koontz have nothing on our gal. That whole paragraph seems apt to me. I've been posting (well, I was posting) articles about some of the "water folk" v. "land lubber" conflicts IRL on the Sea Shanti FB page, and I nearly talked another poor guy's ear off the other day about the "war in water" in Sausalito during the 60s, the Moken people in South Asia, and the river shanties of the Depression era. I think I'm as drawn to the boating life for its cultural history as anything else, and I do feel like there's a common bond among people who live on the water. There's an "I do what I want" vibe that I dig. ;) Also, the Perilous and Sparks series is going to be at least seven novels long. I've planned all along to have a novel set on every continent!Autumnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15339941942226836403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-74140985900839145812018-03-24T09:25:09.382-07:002018-03-24T09:25:09.382-07:0080 Books! The Boy in the Suitcase definitely grabbed my attention. I love mysteries. I've just discovered Karin Slaughter. I'm slow. Have a great day. Spring has sprung.
