It just seemed like the right thing to do, and she seemed all right with it. I took some time to see what came from the ethos and into my brain. The previous owner, who was the original owner, had taken excellent care of her, but then her job and health made demands, time marched on, and the sloop sat on the hard for nearly 20 years before she came into my life.

The name that came to me was Retrouvé. French for "found again." I asked the sloop about it, and she liked it. Also used DIY Lettering. megan blogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04555646904983619596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-80496285135286523482016-01-08T08:14:36.059-08:002016-01-08T08:14:36.059-08:00Love your blog, I name my vehicles after the peopl...Love your blog, I name my vehicles after the people I've bought them from. It is never too late, you just have to ask Poseidon and the wind gods for forgiveness on not alerting them before placing the name on the boat. They understand mere mortals make mistakes. When I recently got my article published in a NZ Boating Magazine, the original owner of Wildwood saw the name and got in contact! So cool. He wouldn't have recognised her otherwise. When he had her she was blue!
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10654290512610728603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-5928468706559356642015-08-29T04:24:21.158-07:002015-08-29T04:24:21.158-07:00Fortunately, it looks like Erika is going to fizzl...Fortunately, it looks like Erika is going to fizzle out so I don't have to worry about hurricanes and can go back to my usual focus on alligators :-)The Cynical Sailorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11047491682363507834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-91329229618821073262015-08-28T17:21:28.847-07:002015-08-28T17:21:28.847-07:00I think you are in a good spot...we've been th...I think you are in a good spot...we've been there a few times and you are tucked away fairly well....dont worry about the gators unless you sink....will you be aboard during the storm?Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16774903259772280962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717926498377706091.post-75363598378363889102015-08-27T05:19:58.834-07:002015-08-27T05:19:58.834-07:00Pukeko is a great boat name - love those birds!
