Some Days, You Just Need A Box Of Kittens

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seems to go right, you're feeling down, and even a whole fistful of Hershey's chocolate kisses isn't doing the trick in making things better?

Well, you know what you need? A box of kittens. Just click on the video below and see what happens when people open up a box of kittens. It's pure magic. I bet even the anti-cat people out there will crack a smile. {If clicking on the video doesn't work, try this link instead.}

I know some people who are having a tough time of it right now. I thought about sending them their very own box of kittens to cheer them up, but I think the folks at the Post Office might frown on that. Party poopers.

Maybe I should show them this video about an older cat educating a new kitten about life. I bet they'd see the light and start some sort of an express kitten-shipping service. Which would be good, because when you're down in the dumps, the faster you get some kittens to cuddle, the better. {If clicking on the video doesn't work, try this link instead.}

How do you cheer folks up who are having a tough time of it? Ever tried to send a box of kittens in the mail?

Thanks for stopping by our blog - we love it when people come visit! We're also on Facebook - pop by and say hi!

  1. The reactions were funny! I wouldn't want to keep them, but a box of kittens is better than a box of chocolates.

    1. Ooh...controversial statement. Are kittens better than chocolate or vice versa? :-)

  2. Cute! But I politely disagree with Alex- chocolate always wins!

    1. And Lucy chimes in on the controversy. :-)

      Personally, I think I would go with the kittens.

  3. Kittens are the best cure for whatever ails. I would love a box of kittens. Sometimes the right kind of music can help you out of a funk, or just a good belly-laugh.

    Thank-you for your support yesterday during the IWSG Twitter Pitch event!

    1. I've only recently joined Twitter and never seen a pitch party, so I found it very interesting to tune in during the day and see how it all worked. Your book sounds very interesting. I hope you got a nibble.

  4. How wonderful. If this doesn't cheer one up nothing will. I linked this post to Feline Friday.

    Have a purrfect day. ♥

  5. Oh! I would've squealed. A good friend of mine and I have always said that if someone walked up to us with a baby and someone else came up with a basket of kittens, we'd both go for the kittens in a heartbeat.

    1. I would have squealed too. Kittens have a distinct advantage over babies in that they're already litter box trained. With babies you have that whole diaper thing going on :-)

  6. Alas, our family can't have kittens due to my husband's allergy. But it's cute to watch them on screen!

    1. Virtual kittens are a very good option for your hubby :-)

  7. A box of kittens is exactly what I need to cure my case of the blahs! Just watching the videos put a smile on my face, but alas, I don't think our two resident cats would welcome any other kitties into the household. We tried incorporating a stray into the mix a couple years ago, and it was NOT a pleasant experience...

    Have a super weekend!

    2. The review was very well deserved. Hot Flashes & Cold Lemonade is such a delightful book. I really, really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to others. I tweeted about it on Twitter and Michelle Wallace commented about how much she LOVED it too. You've got fans everywhere :-)

    3. Thanks so much for the tweet. :) You're right; I've picked up some wonderful supporters all over the world, and what they lack in number, they make up for in enthusiasm.

  8. While i can’t recommend kittens in the mail, i do tell people to go visit the cat shelter and volunteer to pet and socialize the cats there, it’s a sure tonic for the blues and helps the cats as well. Happy Friday!

    1. That is very good advice - go volunteer at the cat shelter. Pet the kitties. It will do you a world of good and do them good as well.

  12. I would love a kitten but my son is allergic and the other son has 2 retired greyhounds. Not a good combination. But chocolate works for me if I need cheering up.

  14. So cute! The comment about the post office made me smile simply because my brother ordered bees years back and those came per post...in a wire cage...with the bees climbing all over the inside and out. I had SO much respect for that delivery man. Kittens would be much better.

    1. Wow, seriously someone actually delivered bees like that? I've got huge respect for that guy.

    1. PS...My friend Barb can be cheered with photos of cute baby animals most of the time, but often, I just offer people love, support, and a shoulder to cry on. You can't always cheer people up, as lovely as that would be.

      I know when I'm really upset, I appreciate sympathy, especially over the friends who think they should start cracking jokes. Talking things through always makes me feel better.

    2. I LOVE that video - so freaking adorable! I want a cat in a bowl :-)

      Talking through things is usually the best thing, but it works even better if you have a cat on your lap :-)
