Wordless Wednesday | Boo Boo Hill, Exuma Land & Sea Park

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - Cruisers make signs out of driftwood with their boat names and leave them on top of Boo Boo Hill at the Exuma Land & Sea Park in the Bahamas.

2 - We recognized a few of the boat names, like S/V Banyan

3 - Some people put a lot of effort into their signs (like Banyan). Some people put for zero effort and don't even bother making a sign (that'd be us).

What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

  1. I think we were somewhere in between... I just wrote our boat name on a conch!

  2. Ha, LOVE it. Thanks for posting the photo, nice to see it's survived! Would you believe it took us four years of visiting BooBoo Hll before we left our mark behind, and that too was largely due to our friends on MV IzzyR, who placed the wood, paints, paintbrushes in front of us and we were not allowed to leave the boat until the sign was done. Good friends! Good Times. And then we had a Banyan on Banyan

    1. Yours was in really good condition and it was fun to run across while we were there.

  3. A graveyard. That's what this reminds me of. I've never heard of such a thing. Oh well, I've not heard about a lot of things.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺

    1. It is kind of like a graveyard. We've seen something similar on another island in the Bahamas as well.

  4. Hehehe. I think I'd probably make a sign, since I'm an artsy type. But my husband would crinkle his brow at me and ask, "Why?" Then again, I'm not sure I want my work associated to something that's a known boo-boo.

    1. I'm not actually sure why they call if Boo Boo Hill. Maybe it means something different than an injury?

  5. Better it's a made up sign than a real piece of the obviously deceased boat.

  7. History. At first I thought it might be wreckage from some tragedy, but I like the truth a lot more. What a fun way for people to leave their mark!

  8. It reminds me of "we were here" type graffiti.

  9. We never made and left a sign either. So, Banyan went there three years in a row! Happy campers! :-)
