Wordless Wednsday | Bright & Shiny Galley Faucet

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - Our new galley faucet is finally installed. We had to take out a sink to get the job done.

2 - It's bright and shiny. Everything else surrounding it looks old and icky now.

3 - I have to remind myself that we replaced the faucet because it was leaking, not for aesthetic reasons. A total galley makeover isn't on the project list.

4 - Water is a precious commodity when we're out cruising on our sailboat and we can't afford to lose any through leaks. We carry 50 gallons in our water tanks and an additional 20 gallons in jerry cans.

What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

  1. As long as it gives you water and it doesn't leak, that's what matters.

  2. We used to belong to a private island with no water or electricity. So going dark in a cruiser is an art. Run the generator to keep the batteries charged. Use water sparingly. We do know the need not to waste water. Looking good.

Have a terrific Wordless Wednesday. ☺

    1. Yep, once we get back out there cruising again, we'll be using water very sparingly.

  3. Looks awesome! It's tough to find smaller faucets that will work on the boat. And do you seriously have hot and cold water in your galley?!

    1. It took forever to find one that would fit. Theoretically we have hot water, but I think the hot water heater is busted so we only use cold.

  4. Looks good!
I drink about sixty ounces of water a day. You probably don't want me on board.

  5. Functional. That is the word that comes to mind. Whatever gets the job done.

  6. Nice job, tick one more thing off of the project list. Give yourself a cookie!

    1. Why does it seem like every time we tick one thing off of the list, two more take it's place?

  7. Looks good! Your water tankage is the same as on Irie. Being careful with water and finding a way to collect it are the way to go!

    1. We do need to figure out a rain collection system.
