Wordless Wednesday | Sunny Skies

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - It seems like the sun is always shining in Greece and the colors are always bright and cheerful.

2 - I just spent the past week in Portland, Oregon. This time of year, the skies are gray and the colors are muted.

3 - It was cold while I was in Portland. I had to wear socks. My feet aren't used to wearing socks. They don't like socks. They want to get back to wearing flip-flops.

4 - I think there's a reason why Portlanders read so much. During the rainy season, it's too miserable outside to do anything other than curl up by the fireplace with a cup of cocoa and a good book.

What words does this picture bring to your mind when you look at it?

  1. That's a lot of colors in that shot.
So your feet prefer to be naked?

    1. They do prefer to be naked now. They've definitely adapted to warmer weather and can't cope with the cold anymore.

  2. This picture makes me think - I need a holiday, somewhere hot and sunny!

  3. I can't remember the last time I wore socks. It's a shame, too, because I have some cute ones. Maybe when the weather gets "cold" here, I'll break them out. :)

    1. I used to have some cute socks too. Now all of mine are boring and have holes in them.

  4. I agree with you. I hate socks too and we have about two months where socks are needed here. I'm always so happy when the socks come off and the flip flops appear.

That shot makes me think of warmth.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺

  5. I know it's nothing like it, but I'm reminded of this little place in California where my Dad too me for my 15th birthday and we spent 3 awesome days on a smaller boat scuba diving around Catalina island. Wow. Such memories.

  7. The weather is a bit better in Northern California right now. Just like Greece. Which is called Griekenland in Dutch. I thought you might like the sound of that. :-)

I love wearing flip flops. I tried to wear my sandals again yesterday and have a blister again. Then, it hurt all afternoon today, when I went for a walk with socks and hiking shoes. Now it is back to flip flops. Aaaah!

  8. Your photos is lovely and makes me think of fishing in Bucerias. There is something freeing and serene around the marinas in La Cruz and Sayulita. The fishing men are busy bringing in their catch, preparing the fish for market, getting the best pieces into a truck and off to the local restaurants. It may smell funny to those sensitive noses, but I love being down there and watching them.

  9. Beautiful! It looks so sunny! We have to wear socks in the cold arctic tundra of NC. I really tried not to buy socks, but I broke down and bought a men's two pack for us to share.
