Wordless Wednesday | Mountains

Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be about posting a photo(s) without any words. But, I'm a rule breaker, so here are a few words:

1 - Florida is flat as a pancake. Pancakes are delicious, but not necessarily I'm looking for in landscapes.

2 - When I flew to Oregon, I got an amazing view of all sorts of mountains.

3 - I like walking down mountains better than I like walking up them.

4 - If you walk up and down enough mountains, you burn off lots of calories and can indulge in a really large stack of pancakes. With extra syrup and oodles of butter. Guess who hasn't had breakfast yet.

What words does this picture(s) bring to your mind when you look at it?

  1. Our world is rather amazing when viewed from the air.

    1. It is. I love seeing the pictures from the space station. You really get an amazing sense of how incredible it all is from that vantage point.

  2. I've flown from Miami to Seattle and there are lots of cool landscapes to see on that flight. Delightful.

I smiled looking at these photographs.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

    1. I was glad I had window seats. It makes the time go by looking out at the changing landscape.

  3. I always enjoyed flying high over mountains and wondering what was going on below me. Were there people down there? What kind of animals lived there? Nice image. Happy Wordless Wednesday.

    1. I know - I always get curious about what's happening down below and who lives in all of those teeny houses.

  4. Mountains... I grew up in the foothills of the Rockies, and while these mountains are pretty, they are nowhere near as majestic and my mountains. I miss them, but I like the perks of living in Florida too.

    1. Florida definitely has a lot of perks too, but the view of the mountains is pretty amazing.

  5. I know some folks can feel claustrophobic with our mountains out west but I find the peaks comforting and homey, it's the flat expanse and exposure that gets me feeling antsy! And now I seem to have developed a hankering for pancakes... maybe I'll work those in to the menu sometime soon? Nice pics, thanks for sharing :o)

    1. I'm the same way. I like hills around me and trees. It feels weird to be able to see for miles across a flat and bare landscape.

    1. Idaho is a gorgeous state. We used to spend time up in northern Idaho with my in-laws. Love the mountains up there.

  7. Mountains can be just as pretty looking up at them. Well, that's the reasoning I put forward when expected to go on a climb too far. It sometimes works!

    1. I have to reward myself when I get to the top with some sort of treat, otherwise I'd stop halfway up.

  8. I prefer walking down mountains as well, as long as my knees are not bothering me. Ideally, I walk along mountains, over flat trails! :-) I love staring out of the plane window when the sky is cloudless.

    1. Some people do find walking downhill more difficult. I'm glad I don't. I can't imagine being out of breath going uphill and then in pain going downhill.

  9. Living in flat Louisiana, I love the mountains ... and I love pancakes with lots of syrup too! But, mountains mean cold Winters which I don't like. A Summer home in the mountains and a Winter on the boat would be perfect!

  10. I love mountains and I miss the ones I used to live by in Arizona. I have so many pictures of mountains, including some of the Rockies from a plane. By the way, I know this is highly delayed, but thanks for liking my Facebook page. I've been more offline than on lately, but I'm glad to finally return your visit and page like :)
